1985 - 1988 Counsel, Washington, DC Office of Hunton & Williams. Work included the project development responsibility for establishing a communications practice, with particular emphasis on cable television franchising matters, FCC representation, and international telecom matters involving regional representation. Work required responsibility for overall project work in various areas covering, for example, overseeing bids for municipal representation for cable franchising, defining, structuring and conducting negotiations and, generally, advising clients on relevant matters. Other work included the direction of attorneys in FCC hearing proceedings, and in contract matters involving legislative and regulatory representation.

 

1977 - 1985 Partner, Hayes & White. Co-founder and managing partner, with primary responsibility for the development and management of the firm’s international offices. Domestic and international work included the general supervision of attorneys in various representational matters, which covered administrative and legislative representation, as wall as serving as lead litigation counsel on various matters. The areas of specialization included domestic and international telecommunications (covering representation of governments, international organizations, regulatory authorities, cities, and FCC licensees/permittees).
